Barlow Arts Conservatory
At Barlow Arts Conservatory we are dedicated to superior ballet training and technique. We believe a dedicated and disciplined study of ballet in a safe and caring environment is not only fundamental to all modern forms of dance, but also a valuable experience for developing self-esteem, respect and joy in young people. Barlow Arts Conservatory is the premier private studio in Utah for producing professional level artists. In addition to Ballet, BAC maintains a full Jazz track and a Musical Theater program.
Odyssey Dance Theatre
Odyssey Dance Theatre explodes with world-class bravado, passionate charm, and choreographic invention, combining the classical virtues of ballet with the attack of jazz; the freedom of modern dance; the raw energy of hip-hop; the syncopated rhythms of tap; the fluid partnering of ballroom; and the spirit of Broadway and Vaudeville to create a fresh dance vocabulary and entertainment genre that engages audiences across the country and around the world. Odyssey is the “common man’s” dance company, with something for everyone to enjoy – not just for those who see dance as an “elitist” form of entertainment. The use of contemporary, popular music, along with classical, makes it exceptionally appealing to a broad based demographic. Odyssey has consistently shown off the talent and creativity Utah has to offer the dance world.
Salt Contemporary Dance celebrates progression and upward evolution in dance. We showcase emerging voices in contemporary dance by engaging rising choreographers from around the world to create original works with a company of classically trained, artistically versatile dancers. We share this innovative work through concerts, master classes, festivals and workshops to elevate the cultural vibrancy and diversity of our community.
The resumes of our company members include time spent performing with Northwest Dance Project, Odyssey Dance Theater, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, Oakland Ballet, and Utah Regional Ballet. Company members have studied dance at University of Utah, Utah Valley University, Brigham Young University, and University of Arizona.
